Pastor Louis Serge Fayette
Testimony
Pastor Fayette was born
March 30,
1948 in St. Raphael, Haiti to a Catholic family.
He served as an altar boy in the local parish and soon
had questions about the Bible. He asked the priest to
allow him to have the Bible, but was told it would make
him crazy as he did not have any theological knowledge.
Some weeks
later he received a copy of the Gospel of John from an
American missionary. Spurred on by his curiosity, he
cautiously began reading the first chapter. After
completing the entire book, he found that he did not suffer
any mental problems as he had been told. He then shared the
Gospel of John with his friend, an organist for the Roman
Catholic church, and told him what his priest had said about
the Bible. They both determined that they had been lied to
and soon trusted Jesus as their Saviour and left the
Catholic church.
In 1965, Pastor Serge
answered the call of God and began attending the Bible
school that was started by the American missionary that
had given him the Gospel of John years earlier. During
this time he participated in such ministries as
evangelization, starting Bible clubs for children and
teenagers, as well as church planting. The first church
was planted in St. Raphael in 1979. Since that time,
the Lord has added to this nineteen other churches.
