School and Orphanage
Haiti is considered to be
one of the poorest third world countries with a high
illiteracy rate. For more than thirty years, the
evangelical schools in which Pastor Serge helped found,
have been the means to help evangelize the children.
There are more than one thousand children in these
schools.
Haiti is a religious
country. The people believe in God through the
Roman Catholic influence, yet they continue to serve
the gods of voodoo. That is why it is important to
keep the children in the evangelical schools to
teach them the way of God and protect them from
juvenile delinquency.
The orphanage houses more than
seventy children, and Pastor Serge’s family cares for about
thirty orphans in their own home. These children also
receive an education through the evangelical schools. It
should be noted that a great deal of charitable work must be
done in order to receive the necessary legal recognition in
Haiti, therefore, the monthly expenses are enormous as is
the need for monthly support of this worthwhile ministry.
Their principle is the Bible text, “The just shall live by
faith.”
